Ok that’s great, but how does it work on a day to day basis?
The logistics
I work remotely and I’m self employed. Meaning you simply pay me for the work undertaken and that’s it. No need to worry about the ties of having an employee such as holiday pay, office space or equipment.
I use a time tracking tool to accurately track task completion time and charge an hourly rate.
The benefits
You only pay for the task completion time, not for breaks etc
No need to pay for National Insurance Contributions, pension, holiday, sick pay or any other employee costs associated with permanent staff
You can hire me for one off projects, cover for staff sickness, holiday’s or on a recurring basis to provide on-going remote support
What to expect
Discussion over the support needed and hours this is likely to equate to
I undertake the work using time tracking tools to accurately track time to be billed
Invoice is sent along with a break down of time
Payment via bank transfer - payment terms 14 days.
Discount packages
If you know you need regular support on an ongoing basis, I have discount packages available from as little as 3 hours per week.
FAQs
How do I provide you access to my systems?
Security and keeping your data safe should always be of the upmost importance to all business owners. Depending on the services you use this will vary. I strongly encourage clients to create a login specifically for me within their own administration so that they have full control over the data I have access to and have full control to shut off my access once our project or work comes to an end.
Do I book you in at certain times?
I work with a lot of solopreneurs and entrepreneurs - we all know how it goes with running a business you are working at all sorts of weird and wonderful hours! I prefer to work fluidly with you throughout the week, this way I can adapt to you and your business needs as they happen. The only “booking” that would take place is that I will most definitely carry out your allocated hours over the course of the week.
Is it really by the hour with no tie in?
I really do mean it’s by the hour! I offer ad hoc support where you have no tie in whatsoever. I simply carry out the work and that’s it!
If you opt to go for a discounted rate package this is based on securing a month’s worth of work at that rate. For example if you wanted 3 hours per week discount rate, this is provided on the basis that you are going to sign in for 3 hours per week for the next calendar month. After that we review where we are, the hours needed, or if the project is complete and that's it!
What sort of price am I looking at?
My ad hoc rate starts from £40 per hour. Discount packages kick in from 3 hours per week.
Do you work with clients through Access to Work funding?
Absolutely! I work with several clients who receive funding through Access to Work government funding, if this applies to you, let’s have a talk through the support you require and therefore how many hours per week this would be.
